Home Inspection:
Buying or selling a home can be a very stressful event in a person’s life. Add to this the fact that it may be the largest financial transaction they will ever make and this can make the process unbearable. Our aim is to help inform the home buyer or seller with everything needed to help make this process a smooth and enjoyable experience. After all buying a home or selling a home shouldn’t be a terrifying time in your life!
The Process:
Upon contacting us you will be put in touch with an inspector who will discuss the particulars of the home with you, any specific concerns you may have and set up a date for the inspection.
At the inspection which we encourage you to attend we will examine the property and cover the following areas:
· Property grounds
· Roof and Exterior Covering
· Foundation
· Electrical
· Heating, Air Conditioning, and Ventilation
· Appliances
·
At the completion of the inspection the inspector will review their findings and answer any question you may have. You will also be shown photos of any areas that were difficult for you to see during the actual inspection.
A complete written report with photos will be mailed to you within 3 business days. An electronic copy of the report can be emailed if requested.
Home Energy Audit:
Many folks connect home energy audits with their heating units and aim to save heating costs during the winter. While this is true home owners need to remember that an efficient home will also save them considerable funds in the summer time in the form of cooling costs. The good part is that most improvements will help in both the cold and warm weather.
To perform a thorough examination of the home’s energy usage we will take a detailed look at every room in the home. We will also review that last year’s energy bills to detect any unusual patterns of energy consumption. We use the latest equipment to expose any energy leaks in the home and use thermal imaging to detect the areas where your home is costing you in wasted energy. We also conduct an efficiency test of the heating equipment to measure the efficiency of the unit. Many older heating units can cost home owners due to the lack of maintenance and obsolete design.
Upon completion of the energy assessment we will review the finding with the home owner and recommend next steps to increase the home’s energy efficiency. We also provide a complete written report detailing the findings with associated photos. We are available for follow up consultation to answer any questions you might have after our testing is completed.
